Dr. Crow knew at a very early age that he wanted to be a veterinarian. After abandoning his hope of being a major league baseball player, he devoted full effort to reaching his career goal. Steve received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis in 1973. After finishing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Colorado State University, he was selected as one of the first veterinary oncology residents. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Crow served as assistant and associate professor of internal medicine and oncology at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine from 1977 to 1988. He Joined Sacramento Animal Group in 1988, and served many years as Director of the Cancer treatment Center at VCA Highlands Animal Hospital. Dr Crow also les the medical oncology team at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center from 2007-2012 before accepting a two-year teaching position at Massey University’s Veterinary School in New Zealand. Dr Crow joined VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic in 2014 where he receives and treats patients in both internal medicine and oncology. Dr. Crow is board-certified by the American college of veterinary Internal Medicine and has chaired the examination committees in both disciplines. He was selected as a Charter Diplomate of specialty of Medical Oncology and served as President of the veterinary Cancer Society. Dr. Crow has also published more than 40 scientific articles and is co-author of a textbook, Manual of Clinical Procedures in the Dog, Cat, Rabbit and Rodents.
