Evidence suggests that farmers feel under confident in their knowledge of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance and expect their vets to be the source of this information. Using herd health planning to engage farmers in conversations about reducing antibiotic use through improved animal health is an excellent opportunity for vet – farmer knowledge transfer about responsible use and antibiotic resistance.
