The Webinar Vet's Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
(Pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015)
This statement sets out the steps that Alpha Vet International has taken during the financial year ending March 2026 to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
1. Organisation Structure and Business
Alpha Vet International is a provider of continued professional education within the veterinary sector. We work with veterinary professionals, speakers, partners, and suppliers to deliver high-quality educational content and events.
Our operations are primarily based in the UK, with engagement from international speakers, contributors, and service providers where appropriate.
2. Our Commitment to Modern Slavery
Alpha Vet International is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and are committed to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that these practices do not occur within our organisation or supply chains.
3. Policies in Relation to Modern Slavery
Our commitment is underpinned by a number of internal policies and procedures, including:
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy
Code of Conduct
Recruitment and Employment Policies
Whistleblowing Policy
These policies outline our expectations of ethical behaviour and provide clear routes for raising concerns.
4. Due Diligence Processes
We take a proportionate approach to due diligence, appropriate to the size and nature of our organisation. This may include:
Assessing modern slavery risks when engaging new suppliers or partners
Ensuring suppliers and partners comply with applicable employment, labour, and human rights legislation
Including appropriate contractual provisions requiring ethical conduct and compliance with modern slavery laws
Taking appropriate action where concerns are identified
5. Risk Assessment and Management
We recognise that modern slavery risks can vary depending on the nature of services provided and the geographic location of suppliers. As a professional education provider, we consider our overall risk to be low; however, we remain vigilant and review potential risks on an ongoing basis.
Where higher risks are identified, we will take steps to mitigate these through enhanced checks and engagement.
6. Effectiveness and Monitoring
We monitor the effectiveness of our approach by:
Reviewing relevant policies and procedures regularly
Encouraging the reporting of concerns and responding appropriately
Engaging with suppliers and partners on ethical standards
We are committed to continuous improvement and will develop our processes further as the organisation grows.
7. Training and Awareness
We ensure that relevant employees are aware of modern slavery risks and understand their responsibility to act ethically and to report any concerns. Guidance and information are provided as appropriate to support this awareness.
8. Reporting Concerns
Employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical conduct through line management, senior leadership, or via our whistleblowing procedures. All reports are treated seriously and investigated promptly and confidentially.
9. Approval
This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team of Alpha Vet International and will be reviewed annually.
