OK. Hello, everybody. Thank you so much for attending.
My name is Patricia Porter, and, I am the founder and CEO of Via Veterinary Exam Assistant. And I am here to spill the tea on how to use chat GP T in the best way possible so that if you are looking to scribe or dictate your notes, you have something readily available that you can try out today. Even so, we can go ahead and get started.
So, as I mentioned, I'm Patricia Porter. I have almost 15 years of experience in the A I sector specifically, in a i healthcare. I started the 1st 10 years of my career revolutionising human health care, working with, patient facing chatbots as well as automation systems, EMR platforms.
And I first started my journey with IBM Watson, you remember back in the day when Watson used to actually compete on jeopardy? That's his claim to fame. I actually worked on the Watson Health, as well as some of the others, CPG, platforms that Watson was able to integrate into hotels as well as some other platforms where I was able to really understand how a I could really revolutionise a lot of the things that we use every single day.
So it wasn't until a more recent experience. I would say in the last five years that I ditched the humans and came over to the animal side. I adopted Ishiba, Inu Taki who, was literally my sole dog.
And, I adopted him from a shelter and learned all the ailments that, animals go through. I have two Shiba Inu. Now, you see Yuki in the picture with me, Taki, unfortunately, did pass away.
He, did battle with, quite a few diseases that were undiagnosed. And that was really the birth of Via when I, when I first was able to really understand the veterinary space, it was because we spent so much time in the animal hospital really trying to figure out what was wrong with him Via was created with the intent to be able to, predict disease before it occurred, because it was such a personal story of mine to be able to understand Taki's ailments a lot more. And how could I prevent certain illnesses or even treat things much better, than the way that we had access to.
And we accidentally solved a couple of other problems in the veterinary space as well. And some of those were operation automation and just finding better ways to streamline that exam process as well as that documentation process. So it's really been my mission to be able to innovate, simplify and elevate care in the animal industry.
And as I mentioned, I haven't looked back since the last five years that I've been in this space. And part of that mission is to continue to innovate alongside all of our healthcare heroes, but also to share cool tips, advice and also show showcase the power of what we've built. But also what's out there today so that you guys can leverage automation A I and your individual spheres, back at your clinics.
So I'm excited to dig into what we're going to talk about today, which is really about the power of chat GP P. So we'll dig into a little bit about chat G BT. First everyone knows chat G BT.
You hear about it? I think it broke the Internet. Maybe about three or four years ago, where literally, on LinkedIn, there was an open model that people could play with, and on that model, people would be able to chat.
And that is the power of chat. G BT is a conversation interface, so it's a language model that was developed by open a I, a large language model that is supposed to generate human like content and text based on user input. And there's a tonne of applications that people have used chat GP T for, many of them can be for trip planning.
I don't know if you've tried using that, but I've been able to actually train my chat G BT on specific things about my family, and things that you know might be more unique. You have the power to do that, and that's what we're gonna kind of get into. But trip planning, You can use it for email writing.
I've used it for that as well. You can use it for content generation. I've heard that marketeers everywhere are threatened by chat G BT because how unique the content generation can be when you train it, and when you prompt it in the proper ways.
So there's a number of applications that chat G BT can be used for. But obviously the ones that I'm more interested in, how can we use CE PP today? For veterinarians?
One of the big pieces is saving time by automating documentation. So chat GP T within the last year or so has been able to release its dictation, Which is amazing. That's one of the pieces that I'll share with you guys.
Today is how to use the voice dictation and how to actually have conversation with your chat. G BT during the day While you're in office while you're at home, you're in the car. You can now be able to leverage it in that way.
It's not just typing anymore, so you can save a lot of time by scribing dictating your exams or prompting it to do things by voice, which can be very, very nice and effective. Other pieces of that that come you know, outside of the dictation is just ensuring accuracy and consistency in records. So the ability to leverage the training that goes into chat G BT as well as its learning models you're accessing, hundreds of thousands of data inputs from users all over the world.
That also has its drawbacks. And we'll get into that, like, hallucination and some other pieces. But for the most part, you're able to leverage those large language models to have fast documentation now and today, with very little to no training.
Obviously there is some training if you have unique ways that you want things written, and I'll get into that today as well. And those are some of the customizable templates that I'll show you today, but essentially you have the ability to really leverage the power of chat G BT in in in your pocket. So whether it's on your phone or it's on your laptop, you have the ability to be able to use chat G BT in that way.
So chat G BT can really transform exam talk documentation. So, as I mentioned, the voice to text functionality can be used during the exams. So some of the ways that I've seen folks use chat, G, BT and even folks that use via so our clinics that are using via today will either dictate live while they're in the exam room, or they'll step outside of the exam and dictate after before they jump into their next exam.
There's a couple of components here that I always recommend and highlight, because while you're doing that, it depends on what you're after. So if you're a busy ER hospital and you need to be able to dictate quickly and you may not have that buffer time between each exam room, you can do it live while you're in front of clients. But if you're a smaller practise or maybe a new practise and you're really trying to build that loyalty, I recommend the latter being able to really build that human contact with the pet parent.
Talk to them. Have that discussion be very hands on with the pet while you're in the exam room and then prior to jumping to the next exam. You can quickly dictate, and I've seen folks use dictation in in both ways, which, can be helpful, so you choose what's most applicable to you.
But using that voice to text functionality is super powerful, and since at G BT released it. You now have access to that today There's also a number of scribe platforms that are amazing in the industry right now. So I would also check out some of those platforms that are offering that particular kind of scribe, technology only where you can actually dictate and be able to come up with a soap note similar to what I'll show you with chat GP P today.
The other piece as well is that it eliminates manual transcription. So, obviously you don't have to type, so you can focus on that patient care as I mentioned, the piece that you cannot eliminate, though, and we'll kind of get into some of the drawbacks of why Chat G BT may not be the preferred method, but you do still have to copy and paste, which some of described, technology and platforms that are out there today. You do have to copy and paste if they don't have integration, but some of them have really cool extensions as well.
So definitely dig into those and ask your providers if you are currently using a Skype platform, do they have an extension or a way to make that copy and paste easier for you? Many of these companies are flexible, and they want you to have the power in your hands so that you can use the technology to your benefit. So, there's a great thing there.
The other piece of it is you can actually generate soap notes formatted to your specifications. So the beauty of having chat GP P readily available on your phone is that you could train it in real time. If you don't like something that it generated, you can actually have a conversation with it, actually, update it and, tell it what to change, which is super nice, and we'll dig into that a little bit as well, so you'll have the power to be able to really have not only upfront training where you can actually use reusable templates.
But while you're producing the, soap note alongside chat GP T, you can interact with it in real time and say, No, I didn't like that. Can you change it, modify it to do this or that? Or I really want this preloaded text ahead of time into, my template for subjective or for objective for this particular one.
If there's certain cases, for example, skin cases or vomiting and diarrhoea cases that you want to be specific or to have specific nomenclature. You can also speak to it in that way as well, so that it can do that. But it does require a lot of training to get it right.
Some of these other platforms that are readily available that are plug and play, they have them available right then and there so you won't have to do the training. It's plug and play, but with chat chi PT, you will. So just keep that in mind.
But I'll show you how to do that today. So some of the key benefits that, we kind of gone over, but also some of the things that might not be directly translatable is the enhanced productivity. How do you measure that?
So one of the ways that we measure it at via is we're looking at appointment slots so via actually opens up 14 more appointment slots per day. Other scribe companies can do the same. There's X amount of hours that can be saved based on scribing.
So depending on what the solutions are and what they offer and the different features and functionalities they have There could be a tonne of enhanced benefit. But with scribing in general, you're saving hours. And those are the things that really matter at the end of the day, especially when you want to close your clinic on time.
Reduced documentation errors is the other piece of it. So, the one piece that obviously you cannot control is hallucination and then poor dictation. So, for example, if the speech to text wasn't very good, those things can translate terribly.
I've seen also certain things as well. If you dictate something, maybe aquel is not spelled correctly or Kahan is all. These are very challenging words for voice dictation models to understand.
So those may not translate correctly if you don't have a fully plugged in model that's been trained on veterinary or medical lingo so that that can be the problem with some of the chat GP, T or other types of the A I models that you're using to to record your exams. So those are all things that, to take in consideration. By and large, they still will reduce some of the documentation errors that might occur while you're transcribing things manually from paper, then typing it and all the time that's spent doing that, the other one that is kind of an indirect benefit is improved.
Focus on patient care. One of the biggest things that we hear a lot about when we're talking to our clients and our veterinarians and our vet techs is that they want to be able to find ways to improve client loyalty. You know, we know that appointment, appointments are down right now.
Exams are down, spending is down. And these are all things where we're trying to find better ways to incorporate patient care but integrate the patient and what they need back into that care model while also finding other revenue opportunities. And so when you're finding ways to optimise areas that might be time consuming, you're now opening up more slots to be able to take care of patients in other ways.
These are some of the key benefits that really you can leverage while using automation or a I systems or scribe systems any a I, for that matter. I'm a big proponent of being able to find ways to bring automation, into your workflow. Anywhere you can see fit.
We highly recommend it because you're really going to be able to focus back on that patient care. So getting started with chat GP P is actually quite simple. So, what I would like for y'all to do just interactively if you guys have another screen open is I want you to go to open a I, So visit chat dot open a i.com.
And I want you to check which subscription you're on if you're on one. If you're not on one, create a free account. They are free.
But in order to get some of the bells and whistles that we'll review today, you do have to upgrade. But it is $20 a month, which is cost effective. I believe that's how much Netflix is now.
And if it's something that can bring value to your everyday job, then why not try it? Right. You cancel at any time.
I also don't get any anything from chat GP T. So if you want to let if you know anybody at chat GP T and let them know that I'm helping them with their sales. Please do, because I could use the the commission here.
But, for the most part, it is. It is nominal when we think about some of the expenses that go into doing the day to day, especially from a business or enterprise perspective. So, go ahead and download that, access that or log in.
One of the big pieces that I want you to look at is, your subscription page page, so make sure you're on the chat GP T plus for GP T four. You don't need to upgrade to anything above that. It's not gonna be required for what you need to do.
Quickly. But for the most part, just follow the prompts to upgrade, and then what you're gonna get into this is you're gonna be able to get a little bit more creative as well as store and personalise your information. So everything in the free model comes obviously with plus.
But you also get, extended limits on messaging. So file uploads, image generation, other things. Images are pretty full, too.
Might not be relevant in the veterinary space, but there's a tonne of applications where it can be relevant. So I have a feeling that if you upgrade, you're probably gonna use chat TP key for a lot of other things that you didn't imagine using just because you have a lot more capabilities. Now, you also get the voice, which is awesome.
You get standard and advanced. Advanced is kind of cool because it can be ongoing conversations that you have, and it can kind of Listen, Some people are scared by that, so you can turn it off as well. But when you're actually dictating your exams, that might make it a little nice to keep it on while you're in the exam room so that it can actually ambient listen as well as produce a soap note based on that, excuse me.
So, those are some of the benefits there, So the enhanced capabilities, more accurate responses and then, of course, better customization for those templates are probably gonna be the key reasons to upgrade. But also, for today's demonstration of what we're gonna be doing, you're gonna need to upgrade to see it. If you're not, if you're not interested in doing it, that's fine as well you don't need to, but you will need to if you want to do some of the stuff we're doing today, customising chat GP T for your soap notes.
So, it's quite simple. And I'm gonna walk through first everything in the PowerPoint slide so that we can kind of just talk through it, and then I'm actually gonna do it with you, So I'm gonna have open, a I up and we'll have chat G BT up and we'll upload some soap note templates, things that I've gotten from my veterinarian friends since I'm not a veterinarian, and I I crazy every time I try to speak clinical, so I grab some soap templates, from our veterinarians on our board at via that have helped us train our A I, and these soap note templates obviously are gonna be different per person. So every veterinarian has a different template that they'd like to use, and that's OK.
Like you shouldn't have to use a stock template. You should be able to use whatever you want because it's it's your name. It's it's you know, your your licence that you're putting on, you know, to that particular exam and that soap.
So it should be tailored to how you would want it to look. And that's part of the joy of customising. Whether you're using any platform, there's a tonne of customization templates available.
Across all the other scribe platforms, we have them for via as well, for, take home instructions for soap notes for treatment plan estimates. Since you know, we are an exam headquarters and dictation is built in to our platform, you have a tonne more options, with customization, but chat GP T. You can literally customise pretty much anything if you ask it and you upload and you train it.
But again, you're gonna have to train it. So, you're going to open up your chat GP T and you're going to start a new chat. What you're gonna wanna do is upload a note so you may have a soap note template that you've used before.
What I would recommend, just, you know, for privacy reasons, is redact any patient identifiable information, obviously no client information. Don't upload that. Get rid of that.
And if you could just pop it into a word document and maybe call it your skin case template or your vomiting template. You can name it whatever you would like, but create a bunch of templates on your own on your desktop and then just save those. When you upload them, you're gonna want to provide guidance to chat GP T to basically say something like, Hey, I want to, use this as a reusable prompt.
That's the keyword there reusable, prompt or reusable template so that chai PT knows. Oh, I need to actually save this in my memory because I need to use this template for future. You know, once I'm prompted in the future, I'm gonna have to use this template for later use.
You're going to provide guidance by just saying please format all responses, using this soap template as a reusable, prompt, once you do that chat, GP T can actually help you refine it as well. It'll ask you a few questions and say, Do you like the way this template looks? If there's anything you would like to change, please tell me, and that's where you can basically tell it.
I don't like this. I want you to change it to look like this or no, I'm going to upload something different. I don't like the way that you produced it, but for the most part, it's going to try to follow everything exactly the way that you say it so that it makes sense in that way.
So, that's the beauty of that. The other thing is is dictating. So once you've loaded all your templates and you've officially done your training, which is gonna take some time, you'll be able to actually, use the voice features so below here.
I kind of have a screenshot of the chat G BT again. I'm going to demonstrate this live so you can see it. But, this is the little button that you would press to activate voice.
So that's what it looks like on your desktop. You do have to make sure that you have voice enabled. I would recommend using a chrome browser as well.
Chrome browser is obviously it's just my preferred browser. I don't know why. Maybe I'm biassed.
I like Google products too. But chrome browser is actually really quite good. I think chat GP T performs better in chrome.
I've tried it in other, browsers, and it just doesn't work as well, especially with voice. So I would recommend that once you click that it's gonna open up kind of this interesting, alien looking recording thing, and I'll show you what it looks like. But it's basically gonna record you and it moves so it has some motion to it.
It's very, visually appealing, so you'll be able to see it and you'll know that it's actually listening to what you're saying. And so, essentially, you would just speak naturally. And that's the goal.
Speak naturally, however you want to speak, test it out, even with acronyms, to see how it does. But Chai PT will actually capture and form out the notes based on the pre trainin template and the environment that I actually, have staged for today's demonstration. I've trained a lot on, So I've given it some templates.
I've given it other things. I've trained it on acronyms, so you're gonna have to do all of that upfront. And that that is the drawback, and we'll kind of go through some of those, towards the end of the, webinar today of the drawbacks.
And why, maybe using a plug and play solution like a scribe only solution or using the where maybe you want scribe, plus a little bit more bells and whistles, for, you know, cost effective reasons or even pro pro productivity. You're gonna want some of those things. So those are just some things to take into consideration, as you are gonna have to train it in order to get it to do what you want it to do.
But for 20 bucks a month, I mean, what can you ask for? So, essentially, once you format that and you speak, then basically chat GP T will generate an a word. Document your soap note.
Then you can proofread that. I always recommend proofreading it, and we'll get into why. But hallucination is the number one thing.
I would never recommend just copy and pasting something that was generated, by chat G BT. Because it's open source and it's not closed loop. So that means that it's not trained on your environment.
As a veterinarian, it's trained on the world, which can be very large and will cause it to hallucinate. So you absolutely need a proofread and read it verbatim before you put that as a legal soap in your actual exam for that patient so very big point there. So make sure you proofread And then also some pro tips here that when you're prompting always practise consistent phrasing.
That's gonna help the the model learn, and then you can also tell it to Hey, I need you to remember this. When you tell chat GP T to remember things, it will store it and, personalise it for you. You can also do it on mobile.
So this is kind of what it looks like on mobile. You would press this little button and it will begin recording. This is really great if you're moving from room to room.
So high volume clinics, you know, this is gonna be super important, but when you're moving from room to room, you're gonna wanna do that. But you have multiple ways to use it, desktop or mobile makes it super nice. So let's see it in action.
So I'm gonna jump over here to chat GP T. So this is kind of what it looks like. One of the things I want to show you is your personalization.
So, you have your customised and then you have your settings. Your settings right here is kind of where you have your subscription. It's gonna show you I'm on chat GP T.
Plus, it expires this, or auto renews in December. So it's monthly. But you also have your ability to have personalization so you can clear memories if you don't want it to remember stuff.
But it's always important to make sure this is on, because when this is on, it's going to remember the things that you train it. That's part of the reusable prompting. So when you're reusing, so make sure you come over to your settings first, you go to personalization.
Just make sure that's flipped on. You can also see, too. She'll get a sneak peek.
So there's some stuff in here that it you know, I've trained it all kinds of stuff, so that it remembers who I am. It remembers my mom's name. It remembers the food I like because selfishly, I like it to find restaurant reservations because I'm a big foodie so I wanted to find stuff.
So I've trained it all in all kinds of stuff. It knows my dog, you it knows talk. It knows my story.
So, depending on what level of comfort you have with chat GP T you can be as open as you want, but the more open and the more, personalised you make it, the more unique that experience will be for you, and that is very specific to your soap note. So if you have very specific requirements in your soap note, I beg you to test it and see how it does and remembering how you want your soap note templates to look, it could be a very valuable resource. So that's number one.
So, yeah, Now what we're gonna do is this little paper clip allows you to attach files. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna actually upload from my computer. I have some soap note templates here, and I'm gonna choose my recent ones.
And I'm just gonna choose these guys right here, and I'll open so you can do multiple. Or you could just do one, depending on how many you have. But one of the things that I always recommend and, Via has this built into its platform already?
It learns in real time. But other platforms, you may have to train it in real time when you're doing your soap note templates, but the goal is is for you to every time you have a new, unique template that might be interesting. You're like, I like this.
I want to use it later. Save it, redact all the PI I and then make sure there's nothing personal on it and then upload it and then say, Hey, save this as another reusable template. So that's a way that you could do training in real time, but again, it takes time.
So the prompt that you can put here again there's no method to this madness of typing in anything. It should be very natural, very conversational. But you can literally just say I would like you to, save these soap note templates as a reusable template, so that when I dictate my soap or my exam, for my patient, you are able to produce a and then you wanna say veterinary, cause it might think you're a human doctor.
So you wanna be specific about stuff like that? You are able to produce a veterinary. So not that I can save to, my pins and then so something like that.
I'm gonna leave the misspellings because I like to be risky. But you just send that. And then once you do that, it's gonna read the documents, and then it's gonna come back with some verbiage that is basically gonna say like, OK, based on what you said.
Is this what you want? It does take time when you're initially training, and this is part of it, and you can see here it's updating the memory. So now it's saying I've saved your reu reusable soap note template to reference when generating veterinary soap notes based on your dictate exam, let me know how you'd like to proceed, or if you'd like a sample note generated, and then you can say, please generate a sample note for me.
And then, it's like having a conversation. So consider this your assistant, and it's gonna generate a sample note so it can kind of see, So here you have your soap Note your subjective it's going through. It's going through objective physical exam findings.
It's listing all the bodies. the body system. So you have them listed there?
It's also giving you your assessment. So primary differentials, it's gonna give you your plan. So diagnostics, medications, support care, prevention and follow up.
And if there's any kind of other things that you would like to change, you can change them. So, like, for example, here you can say in the beginning of, subjective, please make sure you enter, include this text. Patient was, evaluated bull snout to tail, and anything not called out as normal.
And anything not called out is abnormal is normal. And then when you send that, it will then modify it and then include basically some additional stuff. So it's a great way that if you have, like, canned phrases or canned things that you would like to include in your soap, or even your treatment plan Or maybe your take home instructions.
Like I know some some veterinary offices like to get, you know, fun with it. It's like Bella was in today. We gave her tonnes of treats and tonnes of cuddles.
Maybe that's pre canned language that you want. Obviously, that would go on a soap note, maybe more of a take home instruction. But this is a great way to show the power of interacting and training chat GP T to generate a soap note for you.
So, if all is said and done, it's still generating here. You can kind of see that This is exactly what Maybe this is what you want. Maybe it's not what you want.
You're like, that is not how I would do my soap. Train it. Tell it what you would like.
And, see how it does. So that's how you can train it. Now, what I would like to do is say, I would now like to dictate an exam, and I have an exam again.
Like I mentioned, I'm gonna pull it up on my phone so I can read it. But I did not make this up. This is coming from veterinarians that are on our board.
So I'm just gonna read it because I sound crazy. When I actually tried to freehand clinical exams, so I will read verbatim. And then it's gonna take that and translate it into this format that you see up here.
So I would now like to dictate an exam using, voice. Can you please, listen to the exam? And this part is kind of annoying if you have to kind of interact in this way.
But again, you're training it so that when you wanna dictate and begin dictation, it kind of knows, and then we'll go ahead and open up the voice command. So can you please open to exam and then generate a, soap note document that I can download? And then basically, this is funny.
See, this is another thing hallucinating because I did this earlier. Unfortunately, I cannot directly listen to process voice credits. Yeah, that's fine.
So we're gonna do it here, use voice mode, So I would like to actually dictate my exam. Now, can I dictate the exam with you? Go ahead and dictate your thing.
I'll transcribe what you say. It's a fact. And then OK, awesome.
And then what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna start dictating now. So a seven year old spayed female red tick coonhound with a red coat, presenting with the cheap complaint of chewing out fur on her sides. The pet has developed scabs, crusts, open sores and pustules on her stomach area, which has been ongoing for five days.
The pet is current on all core vaccines and is on Sya trio for flea, tick and heartworm prevention. There is no vomiting or diarrhoea, and the pet is eating and drinking normally with a diet consisting of dry kibble and occasional canned food. Physical exam findings are as follows.
Co-operative with exams. Eyes are bright clear without conjunctivitis or corneal defects. Ears have slight debris and some redness with no order.
Nas, or are normal with no discharged throat, is normal with no cough on tracheal palpation. Cardiovascular and respiratory exams are normal, with no murmur, arrhythmias or respiratory issues. Integumentary examination reveals large patches of alopecia pitti along the black back and flank area, and significant skin abnormalities, including scabs, crust pustules, open sores, flea dirt and live fleas.
On the stomach, musculoskeletal system is normal, with no muscle wasting some mildly pro bones and intact reflexes. Abdominal palpation shows no discomfort in lymph nodes are normal. Urogenital exam is normal for the rule out.
I want you to consider parasitic, bacterial, fungal and viral skin diseases. Pyoderma, moist acute dermatitis atop dermatitis, fleas, demotic, mange and ringworm. I also want to perform the following diagnostics.
PC, R ringworm test Super chem U a urinalysis SD MA key screen and Acuflex comprehensive exams skin, scrape and skin cytology and then medications prior to the results will include cephalexin, copine, aquel cyto, point and ketoconazole. And for supportive care, please include the both duo shampoo and the mousse. I am now done.
Please create my soap note. Ok, so these are other drawbacks with chat GP T that you see in real time. So I am going to start dictating the exam.
Can you please listen to me? You can't listen to you. But if you type out what you're saying, what you dictate for you to speak Mhm.
OK, Mhm. OK, so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna paste this in here so we can get actual exam notes in here. But this is why chat GP T can sometimes be a challenge to use.
So in live form, you can see how this can be. You know there's some drawbacks, but for the most part, when it does work, you can actually dictate and it will produce a soap and I'll show you some prior chat so you can actually see that that that happened that way. But let me go ahead and pull up some test cases, and we will just do one for a vomiting and then be able to generate it that way.
So let's do I have a tonne of cases that I always use as part of our, test cases. So I'll populate this into chat G BT. And then I will say, Please generate a soap note for me.
And then So, essentially, if you were to voice dictate this which it works, sometimes again drawbacks to technology it will actually analyse it and then produce your soap note for you. So, even some of the best technologies out there have problems. So then we'll go ahead and regenerate, and it's gonna analyse, and it does take time, which can be annoying.
But for the most part, you can be doing other things while it's analysing it, but it will produce a soap note. And so here is an example. If we look at maybe a previous one here, here's another one.
This is one that it produced based on dictation. So here, Great. I'm going to start now.
This was what I dictated earlier. And so this was the soap note dictation that actually got, provided with this one here. And then if you can still see my screen, this is basically how it produced your soap note.
So when you dictate if all things go well, it will produce your soap note as well as get it in a word, doc. And then all you have to do is cut and paste that back into your pins. Now, what I want to talk about now are the drawback.
So we've seen some of them, right? So with voice dictation and with using chat G BT with large points of data. Because it is an open source model, there's a tonne of users using it, and there's a lack of integration.
It requires a lot of patience so you can see even firsthand today that earlier when I was doing the dictation, it was able to generate the note. But the more you interact with it. It can have some drawback because there is that lack of integration as well.
You're gonna have to manually copy and it so there's no chrome extension. There's no, integration through the API where you can actually have it go back into your pins. That can be very challenging.
The other piece of it as well is that it doesn't have accurate inventory matching. So based on what you sell in your clinic, Chai P doesn't know that because it's an outside open source system. So it might recommend things or say things or hallucinate things that you don't even offer, which means you're gonna have to, do a lot of editing after that.
And so that's That's some drawbacks that, you know, users are saying even in our when we decided this is the webinar we wanted to do, We wanted to do it because we know people are using chat G BT out there despite, you know, some of its drawbacks. But, these are some of the biggest points that they're saying with chat G BT the other piece of hallucination. So this is the biggest piece because chat GP T is an open source system, and it's open, which means that they, like, literally you can get information from the Internet.
It can come from another part of the world that may not be relevant to the way that you practise in your state here in the US. So you might be getting other things that potentially could not be relevant to what you, the way you practise this or what you're looking at. There's also outdated drug recommendations, maybe things that were basically recalled.
Those are still getting recommended because chat G BT wasn't updated since the last time its knowledge base was updated. So that's another issue that potentially could happen as well. So these are some current drawbacks that we have to the existing technology, and those are things that you need to consider.
Obviously, I could never you know, plan using chat GP T and have it actually, you know, fumble the way that it just did, but literally, you should be able to dictate for the most part. But that's also another drawback is dependency on open source systems that are widely used. You're gonna have to deal with the volume and traffic of hundreds of users, thousands of users worldwide, all leveraging the same technology.
So one of the biggest things is I. You know, I wouldn't be doing a actual webinar if I wasn't shamelessly plugging via here. But one of the big things that I want to talk about is why, via so Via is a scribe plus solution.
And the reason why it's a scribe plus is because scribing is just one of the features that goes into via So via really is bringing the exam back to the pins. And we've really specialised for Ava, for Cornerstone and for informed and some of those more legacy platforms. We're seeing a lot of great use cases there because exams are very difficult to, conduct in those platforms and via has brought the modern exam experience that you would get maybe from a more modern P I system, or even the combination of multiple tools we're bringing that back in.
And because we're fully integrated with, those platforms, we're also recommending only the products that you have so via is trained on thousands of different cases and is doing product matching based on what you have, and on top of that. Those smart recommendations are recommending personalised suggestions. Diagnostics, medications, supplements, nutrition, you name it.
So it's recommending things that are helping you not only increase food supply sales, things that are unique to what you carry and what you offer in terms of services. But it's all baked into everything that you fully dictate or manually input. If you typing it into via so those are options that you have there where it's not just creating your soap note, but it's building out your treatment plan.
We're also integrated with a number of lab solutions, so your vet techs get the beauty of it as well. They are able to automate their lab diagnostics and be able to do all of those pieces where they can do charge, capture rapid resulting. So there's a tonne of different product benefits that can come from utilising a platform, like via or even if you want to utilise a scribe platform just to get the soap notes off, you know, off your back.
That's also another way to do it. So there's a tonne of really great benefit here when you're looking at automation, but there's other things that you have to consider as well. So, other than that, I really appreciate you guys' time today.
Thank you so much for today's, webinar. And then please scan my information if you want to set up a demo to see via, the beauty of Via is that it is integrated with pretty much every pen. So everyone through coves through idex will be able to support that.
And then, you'll get to leverage the power of a I in a closed loop trained environment for vet veterinarians. You don't have to worry about some of the stuff we just saw today with chat G BT. So I'm gonna go ahead and stop the screen share, and we can jump over to questions.
So from Anna, we have Would it be possible to see what the template looked like before they entered into chat GP T. Thanks. Yeah, absolutely.
I can show what those look like. And then we have another question as well. That says, can you upload a recorded MP MP four audio file for it to convert to text?
That's a great question, Rebecca. I have not tried that, but I want to say you can upload audio files. So that's something that I would urge you to definitely try when you are, testing out chat GP T.
So I would record it and then upload it just like you would a word document and test that out. But I haven't tested that out yet. And that's the first time I I've even thought about that.
So that's brilliant. Yeah. How reliable is information provided by chat G BT.
So, as I mentioned before, this piece of it is the most nerve wracking when you're using chat G BT. It's especially as a practitioner, because it is your board. It is your licence.
You should be reviewing everything. A I hallucinates and that's that's a true thing, Especially when you're using an open source system like chat G BT. You're getting a lot of different information.
And, information is also regional. So the way that you practise, in another country versus in the US, it could be very different. So it's leveraging what it's closely matched to, and because that's being matched by a machine and not by a veterinarian, it's very important for you to, utilise your expertise to measure and grade the output that chat GP T gives you or any other, scribe platform to make sure that you're You're verifying.
Yep. I like what I see here. I'm ready to put that into my soap note.
What is the security of your data using this? What do you mean by that? Do you mean, like, in terms of PI, I Maybe we can expand on that one a little bit.
OK, we can come back to that question. I would like to expand on that, but if you are talking about, PI I and HP A So, for chat GP T. It's not H a certified.
I don't believe it is. So that's why I always recommend redact any PI I or patient information. You want to just use the raw soap note without any identifiable information back to the patient?
That's the safest way to do it for via we are fully encrypted. So it's encrypted on both sides. All of our data that's transferring back and forth between the PIS is fully encrypted, and that's through our data integration policies and our privacy policies that we have set forth in our contracts and agreements with Kris and IE.
So that's a requirement and industry standard. So hopefully that answers your question. And if not, please email me if there's something additional there, the next question is, can you share examples of how automating these administrative tasks that impacted, clinics that have implemented via absolutely so, one of the big pieces, which is our claim to fame metric that we like.
We have a feature called triage. We send the history form ahead of time. We're also baking in a tonne of other really cool features that we're going to be announcing in January.
Some big features that, have some really great partnerships. So being able to, scan feline's, face for facial analysis to get that pain ahead of time is a way that we can really be able to, capture, you know, specific issues with felines. Another one is anxiety and being able to capture, understanding that data ahead of time on how folks may.
We want to implement, certain practises to make sure we reduce the anxiety of the animals being treated prior to the visit. So in that E triage form, we're able to actually collect all that data ahead of time. And in that data collection, we're able to ask very unique questions.
So if I'm scheduling an appointment for Yuki and ahead of time that appointment is, specific to vomiting or diarrhoea, it's going to ask me any bones, toys missing? Or did you could get into the trash? There's customizable temperaments, templates and questions that you can ask ahead of time in via where we can streamline that.
And we're seeing that that's shaving about 25 minutes off, just the check in process. So when I arrive to my appointment with Yuki, literally, all we have to do is collect vitals. Wait, and then you can room Yuki.
And then the veterinarian can go in with some of the other automation pieces because we have voice dictation baked into, our exam workflow. The voice dictation is allowing you to record, and then via is translating that into the soap template that you've created for yourself. So veterinarian a may have a template that they love, and they can build that out through their custom template, builder and veterinarian B might have a another template, but based on how the template was created, that's how Via will create.
Based on what, the information that you're saying and because of the integration as well, Via is only recommending what you have. So all the prices and all of the, names of the products are fully translated over. So it's not making up or trying to translate what you're saying.
It's actually matching it to the price products that you have. So it's helping, invoice creation, estimate creation as well as, lab ordering. Because our integrations, you're able to pull up an tech or IDEX connect, you're able to pull up.
These interfaces directly and via and automatically have those labs ordered and receive those results, which makes finalising the diagnoses and that treatment plan recommendation much faster. So there's a tonne of different automations and what I urge you to do. I'm not sure who asked this question since anonymous, but definitely schedule a demo, and I'm happy to dive in more so you can see how robust Via is how it's not just described.
There's so many other administrative tasks and other roles in your offices that are impacted so positively by the automation that via provides, the next question is, in theory, could you upload your university notes to make your responses more specific? Yeah, you could. Absolutely.
And that is the power of it. So you saw chat E BT blip a little bit earlier, but it doesn't typically do that, but it does do it. Sometimes it does it to me all the time where I either have to shut down the app and restart it.
But for the most part, 20 bucks a month, that's what you get. It's not problematic. But when you have personalization on those university notes, those school notes, other things you can keep constantly training it so that it learns.
And that's what I recommend. But it requires a lot of upkeep, whereas if you're using a platform like via, or maybe another scribe tool, where they're really great at building out those templates and getting those specific soap templates ready for you, it's all pre baked and it's plug and play. Chat.
GP T is going to require a lot of work. And then again, you have the issues with hallucination. So those are just some things to take into consideration.
Is, via also available in other languages? Yes. Oh.
Do you wanna answer that, Mark? Oh, no. I think that's just the prompting.
So, yes, it is. It is available in other languages. We actually utilise, chrome, the native chrome browser, which enables you to translate.
So we've translated it in Japanese, Spanish, French. We've used a number of different languages so folks can see it. It works really well.
Specifically, in French Canada as well as, in Latin America. Some of our pilots are located out there as well. And we've done some really cool demos with Meiji over in Japan.
To also show the translation power of via being available in other languages. We have not tried it in German yet, but I'm sure it would be fine. We have access to every language based on, our Google language translation.
So I invite you to schedule a demo and let's check it out, you know, thank you very much for this. I really enjoyed listening to it throughout it. It looks like such a powerful tool.
Thank you so very much for in. All right. Well, if there's no other questions there, then I I'd like to thank everyone for attending tonight.
It's been a great time and, hope to see you again. This will be, this lecture will be available from tomorrow on the webinar. Website Any any other times.
We're more than happy to have you around. Thank you. Thank you, everybody.
