Description
This presentation aims to equip new vets with the general approach to tackling a calf disease outbreak with a focus on calf diarrhoea. It is important that calf health is put into context so a brief overview of the aims of heifer rearing will be given at the start (inc. targets and economics). We will cover the factors influencing calf health and disease and identify tools which are available which will help them to perform a thorough investigation and get the best results for the farm. We will then specifically run through the approach to calf scour outbreak: diagnosis, investigation, goals of treatment and management.to aid prevention.
