Welcome, hello and thank you to everyone for joining us today at the launch of the new product range, brought to you exclusively by Orthomed. We are delighted to be able to introduce Neuromed, the new innovations in veterinary neurologic care. We prepared a short presentation for you today to introduce the range of products, the ethos behind this new brand, and to reassure you of the team, the support, and the learning materials supporting this new range.
First, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Simon Porter, and I am the sales and marketing manager for Orhamed. Also joining us today is Doctor Sarik Duer, the clinical director of not only Orthemed, but also Infinity Medical, who we have been partnering with now since 2018.
Ortham had been working within the orthopaedic industry now for almost 20 years, working with general practitioners, referral centres, specialists, and within the universities. It's always been very important to us that we make ourselves as a company easily accessible to all surgeons across the globe. Whether that be for the delivery of implants or to reach out to us for training and technical advice from one of our world leading specialists.
This is what makes us stand out against other companies in the industry. We're not just a business in a box. We're passionate, we're open, we're honest, and everything we do is for the welfare of the patient.
This is what drives us to become industry leaders. The idea of neuromed started when 4 diplomat surgeons sat around a table discussing the inadequate availability of basic training, high quality teaching, and the lack of access to support available to surgeons in the neurology industry. That twined with the lack of innovation within the industry, sparked a discussion and a vow to improve the standard of teaching, the accessibility of support, and the availability of better instruments brought this Neuromed project to life.
It's not just about selling products from a catalogue or having people attend a workshop. It's also everything that follows on from that, culminating in better patient welfare, owners' trust, and surgeon's confidence. The concept of Neuromed has been built around the same ethos that OrthoEed had built its foundations on.
High quality products, support and training backed by a team that are working, working towards the same common goal, to offer the patient the best possible surgical techniques performed by surgeons with the best possible tools and education. The products themselves that we're going to introduce to you today are just that. Some of the best possible instruments and products available on the market.
And they are designed and manufactured to give neurosurgeons confidence in their day to day surgeries. But it's important to stress that the idea behind Euromed isn't just to deliver a new catalogue of products to you, it's the whole package of training and support behind these industry-leading new products. We are proud and honoured to have partnered with.
A world-class team. My name is Sarat Dupa and I'm a board certified veterinary surgeon. Practising in Southern California for the last 20 years.
Doctor Robert Bergman. Of pet vet and Carolina veterinary specialists is also on our team, as is Doctor Karl Kraus, who is the hospital director of the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Doctor Peter Earley, a veterinary neurologist at North Carolina State University, and Doctor Scott Rutherford, who is a surgeon, founder and director of Frank and Leeds in the United Kingdom, also make up members of the Team.
We have partnered with these clinical leaders who together share our passion to elevate and support the veterinary profession as a whole. More specifically, They are directly involved in the practises of neurology and neurosurgery. Our mutual commitment is to provide convenient and accessible training opportunities by both volume and location.
This commitment goes beyond the actual training course and extends to an unparalleled commitment to provide clinical support post-training. Our commitment to providing unparalleled support is as follows. As previously mentioned, we are not a company that sells products.
But rather, we're a company that creates solutions for clinical problems. Our primary goal is not to sell products, but to have good clinical outcomes. To that end, we are vested in positive outcomes all around.
We've therefore committed not only to webinars and advanced technical training courses, but to pre and post-operative clinical support. This diverse and global team will allow us to provide seamless clinical support to accommodate any time zone. Education, training and support plays a pivotal role in the story and future of Neuromed.
Over 10 years ago, Doctor Karl Kraus set the training bar extremely high by developing his first ever Iowa State University Advanced spying course. This highly practical course has developed over the years with ever-changing and updating agendas. This course has now been taught across the globe, not just focusing on commercial products, but more importantly on the techniques which offer the patient the best opportunity to recover.
Although the benefits of attending these courses are invaluable, we understand that attending workshops can be costly and time consuming. The specialists we work with are committed to improving the industry and sharing their experiences. That is why over the coming months, Neuromed will be launching a series of neurology led presentations that are free and accessible to anyone who wants to watch.
Not only that, but the team behind Euromed are going to make themselves accessible to share knowledge, share ideas, and also support you with future cases. My name is Karl Krauss. I am chief of surgery at Iowa State University, board certified surgeon and orthopaedic and neurosurgeon.
I am the course director for the Advanced Spinal Surgery Levels 1 and 2. Advanced spinal surgeries level 1 are for those that have skills in surgery but want to advance up and to be doing your basic neurosurgical techniques such as laminectomies, dental slots, and so on. It matters because.
If you're going to take this to the next level, you need to have some hands-on tips and tricks on how to perform the basic neurosurgical procedures. We go through the cadaver courses and our goal is to make sure that those surgeons attending this course are able to do those basic techniques. It matters that you're able to do them and it matters that you don't make mistakes and that's what we try to do to make sure that none of the.
Mistakes are made. We have some of the most skilled instructors that I believe there are in many of these procedures. So if you are already doing basic procedures and you want to move a step up, it really matters because you need to know in those advanced procedures what to do and when and how to avoid mistakes.
We look forward to seeing you here at the course and feel free to contact the course directors if you have any questions, and they'll forward those questions on to me. Although starting in Iowa, these courses are now held across the globe and with demand being so high, a minimum of 6 courses per year are held across America, Europe, Australia, and soon to be Asia. We've now had over 1000 attendees from all over the world attend one of our advanced spying courses.
Aside from the support, the training, and the endeavour to constantly improve the service within the neurology industry, Neuromed is launching with a catalogue of 4 product groups. Essential instrumentation, Lighting solutions that have never before been seen in the veterinary industry. Loops and head lighting.
And also the already established SOP string of pearls locking plate system. Firstly, I'd like to introduce the new essential neuro instrument kit. Before Neuromed, no one company appeared to have developed a high quality, functional line of instruments that work well for veterinary neurosurgery.
There also aren't many resources available that make recommendations on the correct use of some of the more specialist instruments. We have taken the lead and put together instruments in one pack that is so critical to the practise of neurosurgery. We've also gone one step further by offering high quality, continuous professional development on how best to use them.
The light mat and versaite ranges are manufactured by a human medical company, Boss Instruments, based in America. We have obtained the right to exclusively distribute these across the veterinary market. There's a very brief summary.
The light mat range of disposable products available in a variety of sizes and models, allows surgeons to bring light into cavities by applying these, their retractors, thereby improving visualisation and removing shadows. Versalite offers a range of consumable, cost-effective handheld devices that offer multifunctions, including illumination and irrigation. Magnification and illumination are some of the most important tools required during neurosurgery.
We now offer a well-defined range of loops and headlighting to provide better vision in the light of field of view. With 2 headsets now available, there is the cost-effective flip up loop, which can be manually adjusted to fit any pupil dimension and magnification. Also the option of a custom-made loop, manufactured individually to suit your specifications.
Accompanied by a series of headlighting options to use in conjunction with the glasses, this new range is a perfect accompaniment to any intricate surgery. These include the mini headlamp. And also the wireless firefly system.
Mm The long established string of pearls locking plate system is synonymous across the industry for its flexibility for managing instability for fractures and for stabilisation, but it also serves as a versatile fixation system. Used in pairs, the SOP system can be used for cervical fracture repair or cervical fusion in cases of instability. Currently available in three sizes, 2 millimetre, 2.7 millimetre, and 3.5 millimetre.
There are further spine-specific SOP developments in the pipeline, and further information about this versatile locking plate system can be found on the AMed website. We're very proud that since Sarrit, Carl, Bob, Pete, and Scott have been teaching spine and neurology courses across the globe, we've taught surgeons how they can improve their neurosurgical skills, and we're even prouder that we worked alongside them. Over the next coming weeks and months, we'll be emailing out a series of lectures and talks on a variety of topics pertaining to neurology and orthopaedics.
They will be easily accessible for those that have signed up to the newsletter, and also will be completely free of charge. These topics will range from basic use of our instrumentation through to more complex and detailed subjects presented by our key opinion leaders. But this is just the start.
Talking to you today about the launch of the Neuromed brand, it's ethos and introducing its initial products to you is just the start. It's the start of a journey and we want you to be a part of it. We'll do everything we can to support you and reassure you that the team of Orthomed, Neuromed, and Infinity Medical will stand by you all the way.
There's many more exciting projects ahead of us, revolutionary products that are being developed with groundbreaking implants and systems that are currently going through clinical trials across the globe, and over the coming months and beyond, we look forward to introducing these. Our goal isn't to just teach you about products, it's about a team behind you to support you every step of the way. Thank you for your time today.
