Tom Williams
Bio
Tom Williams graduated from the University of Bristol in 2007. His interest in veterinary dentistry started somewhat by chance when in 2009 he attended a wet lab which was followed the next year with a more advanced course.
In the years following that, Tom worked as the lead dentist in his busy North Devon hospital group taking internal referrals and relishing more challenging cases. He regularly attended further training courses in this discipline and started to volunteer his skills to an animal charity. In 2016 he was part of a dental team consisting of human and veterinary specialists that travelled to India where he was taught and performed endodontics on ex-dancing bears. After this he decided to focus and take his interest in veterinary dentistry more seriously. Tom enrolled on the ANZCVS (Australian and New Zealand college of veterinary scientists) program and passed the membership exams in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral surgery in 2018. Since then Tom has enjoyed expanding a dental referral service to cater the whole of South West England.
He regularly offers CPD for veterinarians and has also taught at Bristol Vet School and Surrey University. He is the current president of the British Veterinary Dental Association.
