Bio
Robin is President Elect of the British Veterinary Association. He was born and brought up on a tenanted hill farm in the Yorkshire Dales and from there attended the local grammar school.
He graduated from Liverpool University Vet School in 1985 and joined Tom Norman in a two-vet mixed practice in North Shropshire. Robin moved back north in 1987 in order to marry, and after a year in small animal practice in Leeds joined Stanley House Veterinary Surgeons, his current mixed practice in Colne, Lancashire as a small animal assistant. Robin became a partner in 1990 and is now a director of the four-centre practice with four co-directors and a staff of 50.
Robin is a past president of the Lancashire Veterinary Association and a life member of the Veterinary Benevolent Fund (VBF). His more active involvement with BVA began as a facilitator for recent graduate meetings in the North West and he still hosts lunchtime meetings with recent graduates at OV training days at Barton Hall AHVLA centre. Robin has been a member of BVA’s Members Services Group (MSG) over the last four years and became chair in 2009.
