Bio

Since graduating in Social Work from the University of Queensland, Australia, Rebecca has achieved almost 30 years within the social work profession. She has practised as a front-line social worker in Australia and England, supporting children, young people, families, and adults in crisis, has been an international qualifications advisor for the Australian Association of Social Work, and has provided lectureship in several universities in Australia and England. Rebecca is currently a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at the University of Sussex, UK. Her special interests are animal-related grief and bereavement, ‘The Link’ between human and animal violence and inter-disciplinary cross-reporting, and clinician and professional supervision in veterinary and social work practice. As a current student of the PG Veterinary Social Work program with the University of Tennessee, USA, and member of the International Association of Veterinary Social Workers, Rebecca is the pioneer in veterinary social work in the UK.
