Bio
Dr. Gayle Hallowell is an American and RCVS specialist in Large Animal Internal Medicine and Emergency and Critical Care, as well as a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. She graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2002, completed internships and residencies in large animal internal medicine and critical care at the Royal Veterinary College, and earned a PhD in equine cardiology at the University of Nottingham. Dr. Hallowell has worked in academia and a corporate environment with leadership roles. She is currently a clinician and educator at Equine Vet Medicine Referrals, UK, and serves as Editor in Chief of Wiley’s Veterinary Medicine and Science journal. Her clinical interests include large animal cardiology, gastroenterology, imaging, and the care of acutely ill adult horses, with a particular research focus on equine glandular gastric disease.
