Bio

Poppy graduated from the RVC where she stayed on to complete a rotating internship followed by an ECVS surgical residency. She successfully received her ECVS diploma in 2015. Poppy was a Lecturer in Soft Tissue Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania following her residency and then moved back closer to home in the UK and worked in a private referral hospital whilst helping to set up a heart surgery programme. She completed a Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship and then moved to Dick White Referrals 2020 to set up a new open heart surgery programme. Poppy is now head of Cardiac and Soft Tissue Surgery at DWR with her main passion being open heart surgery and thoracic surgery. In particular, Poppy is focused on the improvement this has on both dog and owner quality of life. Poppy is also passionate about equality within the veterinary field and wider society.
