Melissa Monroe is a licensed veterinary nurse with over two decades of hands-on experience dedicated to the health and happiness of animals. Her journey began with a lifelong love for dogs, which soon grew to include cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, turtles, and even local wildlife. That deep compassion has guided her career and continues to inspire her to provide gentle, fear-free care for every patient she meets.
In 2013, Melissa graduated from Bergen Community College with a degree in Veterinary Technology and became a licensed veterinary nurse. Her curiosity and dedication to the field led her to earn a BBA in Veterinary Administrative Services in 2022, blending clinical expertise with leadership and client-relations skills. Melissa is certified in RECOVER CPR Basic and Advanced Life Support, a Fear Free Certified Professional, a Certified AAHA Diabetic Educator, and a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional, equipping her to provide expert care while supporting the wellbeing of both pets and veterinary teams.
Outside of her professional life, Melissa is a devoted mom and lifelong animal lover. She treasures her time with her son, her dog Rosie, and her three cats — Autumn, Abu, and Roo Roo. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, hiking, and swimming, activities that help her stay centered, energized, and connected to the world around her.
Melissa lives by the Veterinary Technician Oath, dedicating herself to the well-being of animals and the strengthening of the human-animal bond through empathy, skill, and service.
