Mark qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Cambridge in 1987 and spent 10 months in general equine hospital at the Millbourn Equine Hospital, Ashford and then spent 5 years in referral equine veterinary practice (Rossdale & Partners, Newmarket) carrying out the Confidential Enquiry into Perioperative Equine Fatalities (CEPEF) for his PhD as a Horserace Betting Levy Board Veterinary Research Training Scholar. He then carried out a further phase of CEPEF (a randomized control trial comparing halothane and isoflurane as anesthetic maintenance agents in horses) as a post doc study as a Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellow in Clinical Epidemiology. Mark became Managing Director of Vetstream in 2006. Vetstream’s leading suite of online services provide an essential toolkit, to enable veterinary teams around the world to Treat, Learn and Communicate to the very highest standard. From peer-reviewed online clinical reference and practice management services, to CPD/CE eLearning and purpose-built website services in relation to the veterinary care of dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, ferrets, guinea pigs, reptiles and cattle. Mark is the Vice President of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association Foundation, a committee member of the British Bee Veterinary Association, the chairman and of the trustees of Our Special Friends, director of Video With My Vet, company secretary and founder of Vets in Mind Alliance.
