Bio

Madonna graduated from Glasgow University Vet School in 2002. She worked in the East end of

Glasgow for two years before settling at the Ark Veterinary Clinics Ltd in 2004. Madonna has a keen

interest in exotics and they currently occupy over 70% of her case load both first opinion and referral.

Madonna is a past Chair of Scottish BSAVA and an affiliate of Glasgow Vet school where she also teaches exotics clinical skills and lectures on exotic animal medicine and surgery on her day off from private practice. The Ark Veterinary Clinics Ltd hosts the exotics selective rotation for Glasgow Vet School with Madonna as clinical lead.

She does consultancy work for Nation Wide Laboratories and is the ethical chair for a small zoo collection.

During her spare time, she speaks widely throughout the UK on exotic animal medicine and surgery and believes that all animals/birds deserve high quality vet care regardless of species. Madonna has been published in several journals including peer reviewed.

Behaviour fascinates Madonna and she gained her Parrot Behaviour diploma in 2015 and is currently studying towards a feline behaviour diploma.

Madonna is a member of the Rabbit Welfare and Association Fund (RWAF), the Tortoise Trust, Clyde Bird Ringing Group, the Scottish Ferret Club, British Veterinary Zoological Society, and the Veterinary Invertebrate Society and has a strong interest in conservation.
