John qualified as a vet from Edinburgh in 1994. He worked in equine, small animal and farm practice before taking a role with the Scottish Agricultural College for 2 years as a vet investigator. After this John started a mixed, mainly farm practice in native Ireland, where he spent 15 years as a director. His work was a wide mix of beef and dairy with some seasonal sheep work. He became interested in non-medicinal product development in Practice and this led to increased work with Forte, a vet pharma company based in Ireland. John now spends most time working for Forte helping develop their large animal range and supporting the sales team snd retains an interest in dairy herd fertility and still works locally doing general large animal veterinary work.
