Bio

He has a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1993 from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained his PhD in 2006.
He is a professor of the “Facultat de Veterinària de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona”, where he teaches Exotic animal and Zoo medicine and is the head of the exotic pet service in the “Hospital Clinic Veterinari”.
In 2011, Dr Martorell became recognized as an active Diplomate of the European College of Zoological Medicine (ECZM) in the specialty of Small Mammals Medicine. Currently, he is the supervisor of the ECZM-residency program (small mammal) and the exotic pet –internship program.
