Harry Meade is one of the world’s leading event riders, ranked FEI World Number One in 2025 and 2026 after more than two decades competing at the top of the sport. Renowned for his sympathetic riding and ability to produce horses to five-star level, he has completed Badminton and Burghley a combined 33 times. Following career-threatening injuries in 2013, Harry returned within eight months to finish third at Badminton and later won World Championship silver. His outstanding 2024/25 season included five-star clears inside the time at Kentucky, Badminton and Burghley, finishing on his dressage score at all three. In 2025, all seven of his five-star starts finished inside the top ten, and he added another Badminton podium in 2026. Alongside competition, Harry has built a diverse equestrian career as a BBC commentator and presenter at major championships, a respected columnist, and a long-serving advocate for eventing governance, including ten years as Chairman of the International Riders’ Group. Awarded the British Equestrian Federation Medal of Honour, he is also the son of triple Olympic gold medallist Richard Meade.
