Bio

Giovanni grew up on a dairy farm in Sicily and graduated from Bologna University in 2012. Early in his career, he worked in Italy, where he completed a postgraduate program in Animal Health, Breeding, and Livestock Production at the University of Teramo. From 2015 to 2020, he expanded his international clinical experience as a practitioner in Hungary, Malta, and the United Kingdom (Aberdeenshire and Norfolk). Giovanni joined the University of Glasgow in 2020 to undertake a residency with the European College of Bovine Health Management (ECBHM) and became a diplomate after passing his certifying exam in September 2023. In November 2023, he joined the University of Nottingham as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Farm Animal Health and Welfare. He enjoys many aspects of bovine medicine, including reproduction, sensor technology and lameness.
