Gina qualified as a veterinary nurse in Northern Ireland in 2008 and then gained her Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing, before joining the RVC’s Queen Mother Hospital for Animals in 2011 as the Senior Medicine Nurse. Gina won the BSAVA nurse abstract award in 2015 for complications associated with intravenous catheter placement, before becoming the Head Medicine Nurse at the hospital in 2016.
In 2019 Gina gained a PgCert in Veterinary Education followed by the PgDip in 2022 and became a teaching fellow in the RVC’s CertAVN (Medical pathway). She is currently undertaking the Masters in Veterinary Education and loves to share her passion of medical nursing with others. Gina currently leads a team of 25 medicine nurses and particularly loves nursing endocrine cases and supporting endoscopy procedures.
