Francine Fernandez, Senior Environmental Safety Assessor , VMD: Francine has been a dedicated member of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) since 2008, contributing in various roles. Most notably, she has been an integral part of the team that evaluates human and environmental safety data for new veterinary medicine applications. With a background in environmental science and toxicology, Francine has consistently focused on environmental safety throughout her career. Currently, she serves as the Senior Environmental Safety Assessor within her team. Recently, she has taken a leading role in the VMD’s participation in the cross-government Pharmaceuticals in the Environment (PiE) initiative.
