Bio

After qualifying in 2006, Flick followed her passion for surgical referrals. Flick holds the RCVS DipAVN (Small Animal) & a BSc(hons) degree in Clinical Nursing. Flick is an experienced referral nurse in surgery, anaesthesia, and ICU nursing. Working alongside specialist teams of Diplomats, she developed her clinical skills & knowledge through mentorship and training programmes. Flick has also moved into academia, teaching veterinary nursing & a vast range of animal biosciences, including clinical anatomy. Now, Flick is the Founder of her own surgical & perioperative education company, Veterinary Surgical Nursing. Flick is sitting her final exams in the ISVPS AdvNCert (Surgery Nursing), alongside studying for an MSc AVN, specialising in PgCert AVNs for both surgery and pain management. Flick works alongside ‘canine co-worker’, Bowie, her Medical Alert Assistance Dog, who helps to manage her dysautonomia & EDS.
