Ezio Ferroglio

Bio

Department of Veterinary Science, University of Turin, Italy Ezio Ferroglio qualified in veterinary medicine at the University of Turin in 1992. He then gained his PhD in “Epidemiology and control of zoonosis” at the University of Bologna in 1997. He currently works as a Full Professor of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases at the Department of Animal Production, Epidemiology & Ecology, div. Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases, University of Turin, Italy. Since 1999 he has been involved in more than 55 research projects relating to the diagnosis, epidemiology and pathogenesis of parasites and wildlife diseases of public health interest and regularly holds seminars on these topics. Ezio peer reviews for many journals including Transactions of The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Journal of Wildlife Diseases, Emerging Infectious Diseases, Veterinary Parasitology, Tuberculosis, Acta Tropica, European Journal of Wildlife Research, Mammalian Biology and Journal of Helminthology. He became a member of the European Veterinary Parasitology College in September 2003 and the European College of Veterinary Public Health in July 2005. He has also published many scientific papers including papers on Neospora caninum, Leishmania infantum, several nematode species and on the mutual transmission of pathogens between wild and domestic animals.
