Bio
Dr Claire Gillvray has over 20 years of experience as a medical doctor graduating from Edinburgh University in 1999. She is dual trained as a GP and Psychiatrist. She became interested in the link between physical and mental health from her experience racing for Great Britain and Ireland as an age group triathlete at all distances including Ironman, and her research for her MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine was based on the cross over between addiction to alcohol and to sport. She founded Cognitive Sports Therapy to help empower people to be strong both physically and mentally and alongside Lucy Hibben of Yoga Strong, she writes programmes for individuals and groups combining exercises for mind, body and breath. They look after corporate wellbeing through provision of talks, wellbeing assessments in the workplace, exercise classes and therapy sessions and provide free training in mental health for sports coaches. She has a particular interest in occupational health of doctors and veterinarians having worked with the NHS Practitioner Health service through the pandemic and volunteering with Galaxy Vets. She has spoken at a number of wellbeing events for vets including Wellvet and the RCVS Virtual Congress. She is the Chief Medical Officer of a start up called EKHO Wellbeing who provide support around women's intimate wellbeing in particular in the workplace and is passionate in helping support women through the transition of menopause both physically and mentally.
