Bio

Claire qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1999 from the University of Glasgow Veterinary School and with a Doctorate in Animal Behaviour & Welfare from the University of Lincoln, in 2010. Claire has served on the boards of the BVBA, ESVCE, AWSELVA and is currently chair of the Irish Veterinary Behaviour Association and on the VICAS and animal welfare committees for Veterinary Ireland. She has experience teaching Animal Welfare Science, Applied Animal Behaviour and International Animal Welfare, Ethics & Law and is currently working as a research manager at UCD in Animal Welfare & Ethics. Claire ran a successful first opinion and veterinary behaviour practice in Scotland for nearly ten years and continues to see veterinary behaviour cases now she has settled in Ireland
