Bio

Dr. Ann Hohenhaus is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Oncology and Small Animal Internal Medicine. She currently is a member of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association’s Oncology Working Group.

As Director of Pet Health Information at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, she writes the Animal Medical Center blog and hosts a monthly podcast. Dr. Hohenhaus has been awarded the Maxwell Medallion from the Dog Writers Association of American, the DeBakey Award from the Foundation for Biomedical Research and a Certificate of Excellence from the Cat Writer’s Association of America. In 2024 she was named a DVM 360 Veterinary Hero.

As Fellow of Cornell’s Veterinary Educator’s Academy, she is studying spectrum of care and access to care for veterinary patients. Her current research interests lie in feline oncology. She currently serves as an AVMA Council on Education site visitor.

In her spare time she raises kittens for the ASPCA Kitten Nursery.
