Bio

Ana earned a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Lavras (Brazil), followed by a Masters in Clinical Animal Behaviour and a PhD in Human-Animal Interactions from the University of Lincoln (UK). Her previous work experience is both practical, as a small animal veterinarian and behaviourist, and theoretical, as an academic researcher and associate lecturer. As part of the latter, she completed two funded postdoctoral research projects and has been teaching human-animal interactions to postgraduate students. Ana joined Cats Protection in 2023 and is enthusiastic about developing new cat welfare assessment tools to improve the quality of life of cats.
