Bio

Dr Chris Copeman is a practising veterinary surgeon and sustainability pioneer based near Wigan, Greater Manchester. Trained in veterinary medicine in London, Chris founded Bryn Veterinary Centre, which became the UK’s first-ever Passivhaus-certified veterinary practice, completed in October 2019 and certified in August 2021

His passion for sustainability started with his own deep-energy retrofit in Cheshire—upgraded to Passivhaus-standard on a modest £60,000 budget. Motivated by the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions, he trained as a certified Passivhaus consultant and took the lead role in project managing both his home and veterinary clinic builds. Today, he offers expertise in airtightness, MVHR ventilation, eco-materials, and sustainable project delivery
