Dr. Brent Mayabb graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and began his career in small animal general practice. Looking to move from practice to industry, he joined Royal Canin US in May 2004 as a Technical Service Veterinarian. Brent has had experience across many parts of the Royal Canin business, including responsibilities in communications, public relations, learning and development, and government affairs. Currently, he is Royal Canin’s Global Chief Medical Officer.
In addition to his role at Royal Canin, Brent is a board member for the Kansas State University-Olathe Animal Health Advisory Board and also serves the Secretary of the board of directors of the Banfield Foundation.
Outside of veterinary medicine, very early in his career Brent developed an interest in personal finance and investing. Having experienced many of the financial challenges associated with the veterinary profession firsthand, he wants to help vets and vet techs by making personal finance more approachable. To help him in this education mission, Brent recently completed master’s degree in personal financial planning from the University of Alabama. He frequently speaks on financial topics specifically for veterinary audiences.
