Bio
Anneleen Bru is a cat behaviour counsellor, and since 2008, her mission has been to make cats happier. She helps cat lovers and professionals better understand feline behaviour, offering practical and scientifically-based solutions to prevent, improve, and resolve behavioural issues. Anneleen graduated with a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and subsequently obtained her Master’s degree in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling at the University of Southampton (UK). She is a fully certified member of the IAABC (US), co-founder, and former chair of the Association of Animal Behaviour Professionals (VDG, BE).
She is the author of seven "I Love Happy Cats" books, with her first book, 'Manual for a Happy Cat' (2017), now published in 14 countries, in 8 languages, and having sold over 50,000 copies. In 2019, Anneleen developed a behavioural model, the Cat Matrix®, a 50-step plan to optimise any cat's behaviour and prevent, improve, or resolve unwanted behaviours. This model, based on over 10 years of experience as a behaviour therapist, has become a valued blueprint for cat professionals helping their clients address feline behavioural issues. In 2023, Anneleen, together with Laroy Group, launched a completely unique line of cat products now distributed globally.
This year, she is focusing on further developing the Happy Cat Coach Programme, an online training programme on feline behaviour, welfare, and behavioural issues for cat lovers and professionals. Participants learn to use the Cat Matrix® model to coach their own cats and their clients' cats towards happiness and resolve undesirable cat behaviour.
