Ana Lara Garcia
Bio
Ana qualified at University of Las Palmas, Spain in 1998 and finished her PhD in 2003. She moved to Ohio State University (OSU), US, where she completed an internship in oncology, a residency in oncology followed by a year as Clinical Instructor and became boarded by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in 2007 and by the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA) in 2008. From 2008 she developed de novo the Oncology service at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), UK as lecturer, senior lecturer, Service Head (2009-2014) and director of the RVC ACVIM oncology residency training program (2009-2017). Ana Joined IDEXX UK in February 2018 as Oncology consultant. She has been part of the Executive Committee of the European Society of Veterinary Oncology (ESVONC) since 2011 and President since 2017. Over the last 10 years Ana has focused in development of veterinary oncology teaching opportunities in UK and abroad and pursued her clinical research on new chemotherapeutic drugs, metronomic therapy, prognosis of canine lymphoma and renal carcinoma and treatment of malignant effusions.
