Bio

Dr Adele Williams-Xavier is an equine internal medicine specialist and a veterinary AI and clinical data expert. With over six years of experience overseeing the development of clinical AI tools and ensuring data quality for successful AI deployment, Adele is recognised as a leading advocate for the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence in veterinary medicine. She is the founder of Ai-WX, a consultancy dedicated to helping veterinary practices and veterinary technology startups implement AI ethically, responsibly, and effectively. Adele regularly advises on clinical data optimisation, product improvement, and strategic AI adoption. Adele actively supports veterinary practices throughout their AI adoption journey; from initial AI literacy training, to identifying specific areas where AI can deliver practical value, considering clinical risk and governance issues, and developing tailored practice AI policies. In addition to authoring a regular AI-focused column in The Veterinary Record, Adele publishes her own Substack blog, which addresses key topics in responsible veterinary AI adoption. She also contributes as a veterinary AI expert part-time to CoVet, a veterinary AI scribe and CoPilot platform, providing medical expertise and guidance on AI integration into clinical workflows.
