Celebrating the Veterinary Green Awards 2026 Winners
This Earth Day, we are proud to announce the winners of the Veterinary Green Awards 2026—recognising the people and practices leading the charge towards a more sustainable future in veterinary medicine.
These awards celebrate those who are not only committed to reducing environmental impact but are going above and beyond to create meaningful, lasting change across the profession.
Raising the Bar for Sustainable Veterinary Practice
This year’s winners didn’t just meet the standards of a “green” veterinary practice—they exceeded them.
From an emergency veterinary hospital implementing a solar-powered microgrid with battery storage to reduce both costs and carbon footprint—while also contributing to pioneering coral reef restoration research—to individuals influencing national conversations around biodiversity and animal welfare, the calibre of entries has been exceptional.
We’ve also seen smaller practices making a big impact—embedding sustainability into everyday clinical care, developing greener health plans, and using their voice to inspire clients, peers, and the wider profession to protect wildlife and biodiversity.
Every action—large or small—matters. And this year’s winners are proof of that.

Voices from Our Winners
Hearing directly from our winners highlights not just their achievements—but the passion and purpose driving their work.
Margo Mosher, Mars Veterinary Health - Simon Doherty International Green Award
"I'm so honoured to receive this award from The Webinar Vet. To me, it highlights our shared commitment to a sustainable future. At Mars Veterinary Health, we believe in collaboration and are developing solutions to advance environmental stewardship, empowering the entire veterinary profession to drive meaningful change for people, pets and the planet."

Dr Sean McCormack - Green Individual Vet Personality of the Year
"I'm thrilled and a little bit shocked to accept this award, to be honest, as so many brilliant people are doing vital and inspiring work within the vet community. I'm a big believer in the power of community to tackle some of our planet's problems, and also in connecting to feel less alone or anxious about the state of nature sometimes. So I guess that's been the main focus of my conservation work: acting as a conduit to bring people together so they feel empowered to make a difference. Local action matters. Thank you so much and I really look forward to the Veterinary Green Discussion Forum."

Cairns Emergency Vets - Green Veterinary Practice of the Year (Over 20 Employees)
The team at Emergency Vets 24/7 is so proud to receive this award! We hope that our commitment to the environment inspires others to step up and help make the veterinary industry more sustainable. Long ago, we heard the message that each of us can make incremental change. We started simply, in our own backyard, and followed the environmental and economic benefits to where we stand today. Thank you to The Webinar Vet and the panel of experts for the recognition and the motivation to keep going: we will! Cairns Emergency Vets are also contributing to vital environmental work beyond their clinic—supporting efforts to protect the Great Barrier Reef through collaboration with leading research and conservation organisations.

Phill Elliott, Small World Vet Centre - Green Veterinary Practice of the Year (Under 20 Employees)
What a wonderful surprise and honour to receive this fantastic award- wind in our sails! It means a great deal to our whole team, who care deeply about the connection between the health of our patients, our community, and the shared environment we all depend on. While minimising and measuring our negative impact is vital, we find the real joy of planet-positive action often lies beyond the practice walls and veterinary 'norms'. Be bold, imaginative, and willing to try new things. Reach out to local conservation groups to help create biodiverse habitats, connect with like-minded businesses on a litter-pick, put up nest boxes... the opportunities are endless, the momentum unstoppable! Lead the way, surprise people and, above all, have fun.

A Shared Commitment to Change
The Veterinary Green Awards are more than a celebration—they are a reflection of a growing movement within the profession.
A movement that recognises the interconnectedness of animal health, human wellbeing, and environmental sustainability.
A movement that understands that progress doesn’t happen overnight—but through consistent, collective action.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this year’s winners, we also look to the future.
The challenges facing our planet are significant—but so is the opportunity for the veterinary profession to lead, innovate, and inspire.
To our winners: thank you for setting the standard.
To our community: let’s keep building momentum together. 🌱
